Students in China

In Asia, wherever you teach you can see high regards for teachers in the society and amongst the students. The teachers are idolized to an great extent and as an ESL teacher from the foreign land you can expect all the more respect. While teaching English as Second language in Asia you have to be very responsible about their duties and responsibilities as the students will learn a lot my imitating you. They will not only imitate the English spoken by you but also the behavioral patterns. In countries like China English is not a very common language. In China, English is the language of the elite or the cream of the society. The demand of this language is increasing day by day, as these countries are also becoming a part of the global village. The students in the schools to whom you will be teaching English will not have any knowledge about the subject. The children learn from scratch and you are only source of this language to them. They are not familiar with English at home or in the other classes in school. China has their native languages as official language so the knowledge of English is not indispensable.

In China, the ESL teachers are not only responsible for teaching the small kids but they also have to teach the adults. Many corporate hire English teachers, to teach their employees Business English. This training helps the employees in interacting with global firms. The TESOL teachers can also get jobs in the language schools also, where again the teachers will have to teach the adult students.
